Irish Times One to Watch 2024, Sadhbh Keane, returns with A chuisle, a chroí — a stirring new track that showcases the Dublin singer-songwriter’s lyrical intimacy and sonic ambition. The track will be available from all streaming services on Friday 13th June 2025.
Produced by Philip Magee (Gavin James, Kodaline), A chuisle, a chroí explores the final throes of an intense relationship with an unflinching emotional honesty. The title, meaning “my pulse, my heart”, is lifted from the song’s poignant chorus line:
“A chuisle, a chroí, mo grá, a mhuirnín” — a poetic expression of deep affection in the Irish language.
With echoes of Boygenius intimacy and the raw, propulsive energy of Fontaines D.C., Sadhbh threads detailed storytelling with an indie-rock edge, drawing listeners into a visceral soundscape that swells with emotion and heartbreak.
“It’s about that silent moment across a room — when love is gone but the feeling still pulses,” says Keane.
Building Momentum
Still just 17, Sadhbh has already released 10 original tracks and earned acclaim from national and international tastemakers. Her 2023 debut EP Passion + Paper was celebrated for its lyrical depth and musical maturity, and her singles have consistently found support across RTÉ 2FM, BBC, and independent stations abroad.
Previous tracks like “She Really Loves You” and “You and Never Me” have gained national airplay and praise for their emotional resonance. Fionnuala Moran (2FM) described Sadhbh’s live voice as “magic… the power and clarity I saw in Dermot Kennedy before he became big.”
