Winner’s Wave: Celebrating Radio’s Finest at #IMRO24
Kilkenny, Ireland, October 4th 2024 — The IMRO Radio Awards 2024 lit up the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny tonight as Ireland’s top radio talents gathered to celebrate the industry’s best. Hosted by Dermot Whelan, the night saw an array of exceptional broadcasters and those behind the scenes take home the coveted awards across various categories.
With IMRO as the headline sponsor, the event showcased the creativity, innovation, and passion that drives Ireland’s radio sector. As always, it was a night of recognition, reconnection, and celebration.

At an event in September held at the IMRO Offices, Eddie Caffrey (LMFM), Ray D’Arcy (RTÉ Radio 1), Carol Dooley (Sunshine 106.8) and Hugo Duncan (BBC Northern Ireland) were inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame, recognised for their remarkable contributions to the world of Irish radio.
The Outstanding Achievement Award was given to the southeast’s Beat 102-103 Digital Media Literacy Tour for secondary schools.
IMRO Chairperson Eleanor McEvoy added: “It’s a privilege for IMRO to continue our longstanding partnership with these Awards. Tonight, we break down geographical barriers, bringing together radio professionals from all corners of Ireland. It’s a rare and special opportunity for us to unite as one community, to celebrate your remarkable achievements, and to offer our heartfelt congratulations.”
Rónán Ó Domhnaill, Coimisinéir Forbartha na Meán, Media Development Commissioner of Coimisiún na Meán also congratulated the winners: “Tá Coimisiún na Meán brodúil a bheith luaite leis na gradaim seo de chuid IMRO agus tá muid an-sásta go raibh ar ár gcumas urraíocht a chur ar fáil do na gradaim i mbliana.
