How to Win an Irish Podcast Award!
Tips and Tricks on how to win the coveted Irish Podcast Awards
Following the success of the 2022 awards, the Irish Podcast Awards have returned, bigger and better than before, celebrating the creme de la creme of Irish podcasting talent. The event invites the best Irish producers, presenters, sponsors, platforms, writers and performers together in one room to showcase the art of podcasting.
The Irish Podcast Awards are seeking shows that break or extend the boundaries of Podcasting, rewarding programmes that deliver high-quality and riveting content that engages its listeners and captivates audiences.
Last year’s winners included household names like Mario Rosenstock, Tommy, Laurita and Hector, with the coveted Podcast of the Year award taken home by true crime Podcast ‘The Witness’.

Details
The devil is in the details! Make sure you’ve downloaded your entry pack and given a thorough read through all the entry requirements, rules and guidelines. Some key things to note:
- Each entry requires an audio element consisting of one continuous MP3 or WAV file with a maximum length of 15 minute
- This file will contain 3-5 clips from at least three different episodes published between 1 April 2022 and 30 June 2023.
- This will be accompanied by a tracklisting with a list of all the clips you’ve used, their timecodes, and a short description of what the clip is about
- Don’t forget your text entry! A 250-word passage explaining why your podcast deserves to win your chosen category
Distinction
Make sure your entry is the best it can be. Remember, the judges will be listening through dozens of other entries, you need to make sure yours stands out. Listen back to previous winners and have your friends listen to your entry before finalising it to make sure you’re putting your best clips forward. Above all, make sure you’ve picked the category that’s right for your Podcast. Each entry is judged on the following criteria:
- Audio and Production Quality
- Impactfulness
- Freshness of the Perspective
It’s never too early to get started on entries! Remember the 3 D’s: Dates, Details, and Distinction when considering your clips and collating your entry.
