Ear We Go Again: Irish Podcast Awards Unveils Its 2023 Shortlist! The 2023 Irish Podcast Awards will be held on 21 November at House Dublin. Tickets are on sale now!

Dublin, 14th September 2023 – Building on the momentum of last year’s smash debut, The Irish Podcast Awards is delighted to unveil this year’s distinguished shortlist. Ready your headphones everyone, as the Award ceremony on 21st November at House Dublin promises that unparalleled audio excellence will be celebrated!

The shortlist is filled with so many names from the incredible podcasting landscape across Ireland. The spotlight is on some prominent figures and podcasts, including:

  • The Blindboy Podcast, by the always enlightening and ever unpredictable Blindboy, crops up three times in ‘Arts & Culture’, ‘Climate’, and ‘Wellbeing’. Does this multi-talented Limerick lad have the golden touch or what?
  • io is clearly doing something right in the ‘Branded Podcast’ category with three nominations: Care + Conversations with CarePlus Pharmacy, Engineers Ireland Amplified Podcast, and Tech Radio.
  • We’re also seeing a couple of names bouncing up twice in the ‘Entertainment’ and ‘Fiction’ genres. Watch out for the likes of This Paranormal Life and The Cinemile.
  • New entrants making a mark include The History of the Future, being nominated both as a ‘New Podcast’ and in the ‘Factual’ category. Does this signal the future (pun intended) of our podcast scene?
  • Some 2022 winners will also be back this year, hoping to bag another award. Talking Derry Girls, Opinion Matters with Adrian & Jeremy are amongst those in the running to win again,
  • My Therapist Ghosted Me not only rules as a live show but gets two nods this year. Will Joanne & Vogue have something to celebrate this November?

Delving into the heart of it all, it’s not just the impressive entrants that will have you talking. It’s the rich tapestry of diverse, creative, and downright engaging content. From the pressing concerns of global warming with ‘The Climate Alarm Clock’ to the historical journey of ‘As I Remember It: Bertie Ahern & The Good Friday Agreement’, there truly is a flavour for every palate.

Now, a drumroll, please! The coveted Listeners Choice Award is on the line, and it’s the perfect moment for podcast enthusiasts to weigh in. Will the Talking Bollox lads be the runaway winners of this Award again this year? So, give some love to those podcasts that make our daily routines a tad brighter.
